Die Religion der ägyptischen Götter Isis und Sarapis hat sich in der römischen
Kaiserzeit über das ganze Römerreich verbreitet. Durch die "Metamorphosen" des Apuleius und das Buch des Plutarch "Über Isis und Osiris" war diese Religion schon immer relativ gut bekannt. Aber in neuerer Zeit sind vor allem in Form von Papyrustexten und Steininschriften zahlreiche originale Urkunden der Isis- und Sarapis-Religion gefunden worden, die unsere Kenntnisse von dieser Religion wesentlich vertiefen. Das urkundliche Material ist bisher
noch nicht zusammengestellt worden; es wird hier erstmals gesammelt und der Forschung als Textcorpus zugänglich gemacht.

During the time of Roman emperors, the cult of the Egyptian gods Isis and Sarapis spread throuout the Roman Empire. This religion had become relatively well known through Apuleius "Metamorphoses" and Plutarch's work "On Isis and Osiris". Numerous recent finds of
original documents relating to the Isis and Sarapis cult, particularly in the form of papyrus texts and stone inscriptions, have added importantly to our knowledge of this religion. These
documents have hitherto not been compiled and edited. They are here made accessible for the first time as a corpus of texts for further research.
