John Milton’s “Paradise Lost”, first published in 1667, is one of the most influential poetical works in the history of English Literature. This Concordance, which follows the Oxford edition of Douglas Bush, 1966, provides the scholar with a valuable aid for his research. The Concordance gives all occurrences of every ward in the text, including the common “high-frequency” words.
All words, arranged in alphabetical order, appear in their context, in a KWIC (key ward in context) format, in the middle of the line surrounded by appraximately 60 characters to either side. The occurences are arranged foam the beginning of the poem. A frequency ward list, also alphabetical order, is given, specifying the number of occurrences in each Book of the poem.
