Theophilius Golius (1528-1600) wollte mit seinem Onomasticum kein reines Wörterbuch der deutschen Sprache schaffen. Einer „Ordnung nach der Natur“ folgend (I. Gott und die Religion, II. Die Natur, III. Der Mensch und seine Welt) sind in mehreren Kapiteln lateinische Vokabeln mit ihrer deutschen Entsprechung thematisch gegliedert.

Theophilus Golius (1528-1600) did not intend his Onomasticon to be a simple dictionary of the German language. Following an “Order according to Nature” (I. God and Religion, II. Nature, III. Man and his World), Latin words with their German equivalents are arranged thematically into different chapters.
